What is autism?

Autism is a developmental disorder characterized by troubles with social interaction and communication, and by restricted and repetitive behavior. Parents usually notice signs in the first two or three years of their child’s life. These signs often develop gradually, though some children with autism reach their developmental milestones at a normal pace and then worsen. Approximately 20 million children live with Autism in India.

Project ‘Divyang’ is developing group therapy meetings for friends and family of people diagnosed with autism to help them form meaning offline and online connections. Along with developing group therapy meetings, ‘Divyang’ is also developing autism awareness meetings for people who wish to know more about autism.
